7 Tea: How to Adjust the Strength of Your Drink

7 Tea is a portioned drink made with black tea, plant-based creamer, inulin, seven mushroom ingredients, and monk fruit sweetener. One sachet contains everything for a cup, so the simplest way to adjust the strength is to change the amount of hot water.

What you need

For one serving, you need a sachet of 7 Tea, a cup, hot water, and a spoon. If you want to find your preferred ratio precisely, use a measuring cup or a cup with a known capacity. Once you find a version you like, it is easy to make it again without measuring.

Choose a cup with some extra room so you can stir the powder without spilling. It is easier to start with less water and add more later. You cannot make an overly diluted cup stronger again without using a second sachet.

How to prepare 7 Tea

There are three steps:

  1. Pour the contents of one sachet into a dry cup;
  2. Add hot water, leaving room for stirring;
  3. Stir well until the drink has a smooth, creamy texture.

The plant-based creamer and monk fruit sweetener are already in the blend. Try the drink without milk, sugar, or syrup first; this makes it easier to assess the original balance of the prepared serving. If some powder remains on the bottom or sides, keep stirring and add a little water.

How the amount of water changes the taste

The amount of dry mix stays the same while its concentration in the cup changes. Less water gives the tea, cream, and sweetness a more pronounced profile. More water makes the same drink milder and lighter in taste.

The total amount of ingredients from the sachet does not decrease or increase. They are simply distributed through a larger volume of liquid. This also applies to the naturally occurring caffeine from black tea: dilution changes the concentration in each sip, but not the amount of caffeine in the serving.

A simple way to find your preferred ratio

You do not need to prepare several full servings. Adjust it step by step:

  1. Pour hot water into a cup, stopping well short of the top;
  2. Stir thoroughly and take a small sip;
  3. If the taste is too concentrated, add water in small, equal amounts;
  4. Stir again after each addition;
  5. Remember the final level in the cup or measure the volume.

Change only the water while comparing the taste. If you also add milk, sugar, or syrup, it will be hard to tell which change improved the flavour. Keep the temperature roughly the same too: a very hot drink and a cooled one can taste different.

What is in a serving?

Black tea is the base of 7 Tea. Plant-based creamer gives it a creamy texture, and monk fruit sweetener provides sweetness. Inulin adds soluble, fermentable dietary fibre.

The mushroom blend includes tiger milk mushroom, chaga, reishi, lion's mane, agaricus, maitake, and cordyceps. The formula contains 11 ingredients in total. One sachet contains 30 g of the blend; a package contains 10 servings.

Monk fruit is used as a source of mogrosides, which provide sweetness. The presence of a non-caloric sweetening ingredient does not determine the calorie content of the whole cup: assess it using the full nutritional information for the blend, including the plant-based creamer.

When to enjoy a tea break

Black tea contains naturally occurring caffeine. The exact amount in a cup depends on the tea component of the blend, and individual responses vary. If caffeine interferes with sleep, have 7 Tea in the first half of the day or during an early afternoon break.

Remember to count caffeine from tea as well as coffee, cola, energy drinks, chocolate, and medicines. Adding more water does not turn a caffeinated serving into a caffeine-free evening drink.

What to check before use

If you have a food allergy, read the full ingredient list for the plant-based creamer on the package. Follow the directions and limitations for your product batch. 7 Tea is not a medicine.

The portioned format means the ingredients for a cup are already together. You do not need to change the amount of powder to adjust the taste: start with less hot water, stir well, and dilute gradually until the drink has the strength you prefer. Once you find the right level, your next tea break will take just a few minutes.
